What is MEGANITE?
MEGANITE is a high performance acrylic solid surface material consisting of minerals, resins, and pigment. Its unique formulation provides non-porous characteristics contributing to healthy, sustainable, and safe environments; indoor air quality, food safety, fire, chemical, and is resistant to water and bacteria.

Is MEGANITE a 'green' product?
The marketplace is still in the process of determining what ‘green’ product means. MEGANITE has chosen to align itself with customers based on the consensus built U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED rating system for green buildings. MEGANITE has been tested and certified by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute as a Low-Emitting Product for Indoor Air Quality, and the more stringent assessment for Children and Schools. MEGANITE and its high performance attributes extend product life and allow repurposing of surfaces through routine maintenance/repairs eliminating unnecessary contribution to landfill.

What are the attributes of MEGANITE?
The International Solid Surface Fabricators Association has identified the advantages of solid surface materials over substitute materials.

  • Ease of maintenance- MEGANITE is stain and chemical resistant, simple to clean with soap and water.
  • Hygenic- MEGANITE does not absorb food, liquids, odors or bacteria.
  • Durable- MEGANITE surfaces are integral with solid material throughout, it will not delaminate or separate. Darker colors tend to require more attention than lighter colors.  Your designer and fabricator can offer suggestions regarding scratches and finishes that may result on the darker colors.
  • Seamless appearance- MEGANITE tops can be fused together for permanent and nearly invisible connections.
  • Water resistant- MEGANITE does not absorb water or humidity.
  • Renewable- MEGANITE can be restored to its original beauty through routine maintenance and repair if badly damaged.
  • Design possibilities- MEGANITE offers a broad color offering and textures, allowing for inlays, edge treatments, postformed curve shapes, etc.
