How do you clean MEGANITE solid surfaces?
MEGANITE is easily cleaned with simple soap and water. An ammonia-based cleaner can be used to remove ordinary dirt and residue. Immediately rinse and wipe dry to provide aesthetic sheen level. Avoid using window cleaning sprays.

How do you remove stains from MEGANITE?
MEGANITE repels most stains, stubborn stains may require using a stronger cleanser. CLR and Lime-a-Way may be used to remove hard water marks. Solid surface cleanser Clean EnCounters is effective on stains. The finish sheen level of your surfaces will determine best treatment for problem stains. The Care Section of the MEGANITE website provides detailed information and recommendations.

Will the color and sheen level selection of affect care, maintenance, and durability of MEGANITE?
The optimum performance of solid surface materials is provided by the lower sheen and lighter coloration and textures of MEGANITE. These selections have proven to endure heavy duty usage with ease of frequent repair. The darker colors and high sheen levels should be considered for low traffic areas, without occasion for scratches and damage, scratches and water spotting require more maintenance. Please confer with your local distributor in your selection process. The Care Section describes maintenance and repair techniques for each of the three gloss levels and different colorations.

Will seam joints on MEGANITE surfaces be noticeable?
The beauty of MEGANITE includes inconspicuous seams joining surfaces together, while not entirely invisible, they provide a seamless aesthetic. The seams are color matched and chemically bonded to provide a watertight joint, unlike substitute materials prone to delaminating such as laminate or veneer.

How does MEGANITE compare to granite and marble?
MEGANITE offers significant advantages over granite and marble materials including; nonporous solid surfaces without fissures and crevices prone to capturing moisture, stains and bacteria difficult to remove, color consistency across surfaces and large installations not inherent in natural stone materials conserving resources without waste, integral aesthetic for countertops and sinks and bowls chemically fused together without caulk or seams. MEGANITE never needs sealing. MEGANITE provides a ten year limited warranty, not available on granite or marble materials.

How can I prevent damage?
Precautions such as using trivets will help avoid damage from placing hot pots and pans directly on surfaces. Use trivets when using heat producing elements and kitchenware. When pouring hot liquids into MEGANITE solid surface sinks, simultaneously pour cold water into the basin. Avoid standing on solid surfaces, use a step ladder.

Darker colors tend to require more attention than lighter colors.  Your designer and fabricator can offer suggestions regarding scratches and finishes that may result on the darker colors.
