Fabrication Guide

MEGANITE fabricators and installers are trained to stringent MEGANITE and Industry-Accepted Standards. For recommendations and detailed instructions, please refer to the MEGANITE Fabrication Manual available for download here.

To help specifiers become acquainted with the MEGANITE fabrication process:

  1. Fabrication is completed by a MEGANITE certified fabricator and installer.
    • Fabricated according to current MEGANITE Fabrication, and Industry-Accepted Standards
  2. Fabrication of parts and components are pre-manufactured to extent practical.
  3. Joints formed using manufacturers’ standard joint adhesive to be inconspicuous and without voids.
    • Reinforcement strips according to the current manual are required on seams.
  4. There are three basic finishes for solid surface. Each finish has different properties dependent upon the color as well as levels of maintenance that should be taken into consideration for each specific application.
  5. When countertops overhang cabinets, additional support is required.
  6. It is important that close attention be paid to the adequate support and insulation of the countertop where heat-producing appliances and applications are used. Cooktops as well as foodservice tops such as buffet lines and tops with both hot and cold surfaces etc. must be designed and installed with proper tolerances.
